Women & Motorbikes

Our first blog and we are going to discuss about women and motorcycles. As is the case with all other walks of life, women have what it takes to match and even outclass their male counterparts in racing. What they probably never had in our part of the world, was the opportunity. However, women, like men, also have a passion for riding.

TVS however, has always considered women as a role model in developing and shaping its automobile industry and market share. Carrying on with the pioneering legacy of TVS Racing, it decided to take the initiative to train and nurture the best women racers in the country. As a first step to achieving the goal, TVS Racing announced a collaboration with Alisha Abdullah Racing Academy for Women – India’s first training school for women racers. TVS Racing supported the 18 women riders shortlisted by the academy with racing bikes and technical expertise. These riders were also given the opportunity to race exclusively for TVS Racing Team in the first year.

At Imperial TVS, we have always considered all genders equal and have given opportunity to all women and men alike. We believe motor racing is an avenue which amalgamates competitive human spirit with our need to experience a rush. Once we’ve grown out of the basic understanding about piloting an automobile, a race track allows us to hone our abilities further by putting them to test in a controlled and safe, yet, exciting atmosphere.

At Imperial TVS we had the opportunity to get in touch with one such woman rider and this is what she has to say about RR310, the best 300 cc bike made in collaboration with BMW.

“When I originally started to think about buying a motorcycle way back in 2018, my choice was not so simple. With lot of options I was looking at, it was pretty much hard to decide one. With so much chaos, I finally decided on the TVS Apache RR310. I would say it was love at first sight indeed.

I am a novice rider, and I would say I immediately felt comfortable even after I dropped the bike on myself the first time and said, “Oh lord, I can’t do this”. The bike has helped me gain confidence in it and improve my riding skills.

The fit and finish is evident, the ride and feel is so very smooth and performance is just enough for a newbie like me to learn the basics of motorcycling without being overwhelmed by power nor outgrowing the motorcycle within few months of ownership.
